Shutting down AGN for Now…
I’ve had this website for quite a while. But I can’t afford to keep it anymore. At least not with the same host. So expect Atheist Geek News to disappear early next month. 🙁 I just can’t justify spending so much money on what is, basically, a hobby right now. So if there are any stories you enjoyed or found useful, you might want to copy and paste them somewhere. I suppose they will continue to exist in the Wayback Machine or services like that too.
I started the blog for a variety of reasons. At the time, I was struggling with work and fighting debilitating migraines that made it hard to sit and do the one thing I really wanted to do: to write. The website gave me a chance to do a little writing in small chunks despite the discomfort and pain it brought me to sit and do it. The migraines have improved to some degree over the years, but jobs and money haven’t improved by a whole lot. I can’t justify spending all that money on a hobby when there are more important things that need the money first.
I may transfer the site to another (cheaper) host some day. But for right now, it looks like this is the end for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for reading.

New Article at Michigan Skeptics: “Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Still Have a Major Pedophile Problem?”
I just completed a new article at Michigan Skeptics called “Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Still Have a Major Pedophile Problem?” Spoiler: The answer is yes. But at least some countries are starting to take notice.
This article might be a good one to bookmark, if only for the sources, because everything has a link. There are only one or two ex-Witness or anti-Watchtower links. One is quoted for its explanation about why the destruction of elder notes, minutes, and agendas regarding these cases is a big deal. The other link points to Lloyd Evan’s (Cedars) YouTube video on the issue. Everything else is sourced with news links, not just ex-Witness or anti-Watchtower links. I consider this important because sites like mine are often dismissed as evil old apostate sites filled with demon lies. At the very least, news sources will be taken more seriously by people who were never Jehovah’s Witnesses.
This is a followup to my original article written back 2013 entitled “What You Don’t Know About Jehovah’s Witnesses and Pedophiles.”
If you catch any factual or grammatical errors, please share so I can fix them. Thanks. 🙂
Merry Christmas 2014
Merry Christmas to all my fellow geeks and heathens. As a (sort of) gift, I am providing links to some of my YouTube playlists for you to ignore or enjoy. Note that I would like to edit the start and end times for some of these, but it seems that YouTube (aka Google) has decided to take this feature away. For some reason.
I maintain all these playlists to varying degrees.
Entertainment
Canada’s Worst Driver is probably my favorite reality TV show. And most episodes are available on YouTube! The last 6 seasons are at least. I maintain this playlist because my wife and I like to go back and watch it from time to time. As more episodes become available, I will add them.
Canada’s Worst Handyman is another good reality TV show from Canada. It’s also very Wintery, so it feels like Christmas. 🙂
Here is a playlist featuring movies, TV shows and other videos for geeks. Many of these are anime. Note that some of these get deleted from time to time and I have no control over that.
This is a playlist of standup comedy in no particular order.
Secularism, Atheism, and Skepticism
Conspiracy Roadtrip is a BBC show that takes true believers in various conspiracy theories, including the idea that evolution is a scientific conspiracy, on a bus throughout the United States to show them the evidence that their belief is wrong and to see if they can change anyone’s mind. Note that the host of the show is a nonbelieving comedian, but he seems to treat the people pretty respectfully.
This is a collection of secular and atheist videos I’ve found across YouTube in no particular order.
Below are two playlists of my favorite Atheist Experience episodes and clips.
List 1:
List 2:
Here is a small list of ex-Jehovah’s Witness videos. Note that it includes the one about Kissing Hank’s Ass. 🙂
