Review: “Edge of Tomorrow”

Edge of TomorrowEdge of Tomorrow is a science fiction action movie about a man who is forced to fight in a war against alien invaders, called Mimics, against his will. Only the aliens have the power to reset the day by creating a time loop and correcting any mistakes they make in battle once the day resets. This renders them all but invincible until the hero, William Cage, steals this power by accident and learns to turn it against the enemy. Note that Edge of Tomorrow is also known as Live. Die. Repeat. Probably because Edge of Tomorrow is a stupid name for the movie.

So, what did I think about Edge of Tomorrow? Yeah, I’ve heard the jokes. Many of you scoffed at this movie because Tom Cruise starred in it. You laughed and said it might be worth it to see Cruise get killed a bunch of times but that was about as far as you would go. Then you either downloaded it illegally for free (no judgements) or didn’t see it at all. Because you thought it was going to suck. Well…

Your wait to see Truth Be Told will soon be over!

Truth Be Told will be available for digital download on 12/19/14 and we’ll even be able to preorder a DVD with extras! I don’t know everything about what’s to come, but I’m told it will include full interviews with the ex-Witnesses who appear in the film. You can see clips of the documentary at Gregorio Smith’s website and on SMITHKRAFT’s YouTube channel. I don’t know about you, but I’m there, man.

I’m told Huffington Post will be announcing this very soon, but I’m posting it today. There’s also going to be a mass screening with Reddit AMA after Christmas Day! I’m already thinking about watching it alongside other ex-Witnesses in chat forums, too.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with Truth Be Told, it’s a documentary by director Gregorio Smith about former Jehovah’s Witnesses. I interviewed Gregorio about the film here if you want to learn more.

AtheistTVCan you believe it – AtheistTV! I just found out about this yesterday.

If you have a Roku, they are starting the Atheist TV Network at 7:00 PM tonight. If not, you can watch Atheist TV Live through their live stream with the rest of us. It appears to be produced by American Atheists. Here’s what the site says about the new network:

We have partnered with content creators in the atheist community to bring engaging and entertaining content to AtheistTV. We are working with experienced producers to develop new, original programming that will launch soon.

If you are interested in developing content or submitting existing content to AtheistTV, please contact us.
Current content partners include: the Richard Dawkins Foundation, the Atheist Community of Austin, American Atheists, The Friendly Atheist, and Keith Lowell Jensen.
